Health Benefits of Transitioning to Cleaner Fuel in Jakarta, Indonesia

This study examines the projected public health gains from full implementation of EURO 4 fuel standards in Jakarta by 2030. Using ecological time-series analysis (2018–2023), the research assesses associations between PM2.5 exposure and major air pollution-related diseases, including pneumonia, ischemic heart disease, COPD, and acute respiratory infections. Findings indicate substantial potential reductions in disease burden under a full EURO 4 scenario compared to Business-as-Usual conditions.

This proceeding is presented at APACPH 2025 and was supported by Yayasan Visi Indonesia Raya Emisi Nol Bersih (ViriyaENB).
